Business Talks (6) - Technics increasing profit

2016.08.16. 17:21 aforizmágus

profit.jpgLESSON SIX - Technics increasing profit

- Is there any kinds of technics that would increase your profit?

- A new sales-point in N.

- What are the good points of that?

- There is N-Plaza, and the Stop-Shop Mall, and they are at good places.

- Is it a serious plan?

- It’s only an idea.

- What is the main problem?

- The main problem is the very high rental expenses.

- So, it’s only a question of money?

- Yes, but it’s not so easy because during trading it has to make enough profit.

- Do you have an idea which place is the best for trading?

- The best place is where the most people attend. They are the centres and shopping centres… like street malls. Plazas are good because there are a lot of young people, but they don’t have much money! Street malls are better, because their visitors are from the middle-class and they have more money.

- And what about online shopping and home delivery? Do you use it?

- Yes, we have three online shops.

- And how big is their sales-volume?

- Their sales-volume is much smaller than offline trading.

- What is its rate?

- It’s about 5% (five per cent).

- But how economixcal is it?

- Its maintenance or running is cheaper, but transport is much more expensive.

  • Have you ever thought of founding an own enterprise?
  • Yes, I have. I have had one for years.
  • What is it?
  • I had an internet sales company. It isn’t worth doing in small.
  • How long was it?
  • It lasted for about 6 months.
  • And then?
  • Then I and my father-in-law started a bag-shop. We sell every kind of bags. It’s been runnig for a year.
  • Does it go well?
  • Not yet.
  • When do you think it will go profitable?
  • Maybe next year.
  • Where is it?
  • In Kecskemét.
  • In the city centre?
  • Yes, in Target Center.
  • Where did the idea come from?
  • My father-in-law had had a shop before, and he thought of me to work together with.
  • How many people do you employ?
  • Three.
  • Are they enough?
  • Yes.
  • Do you have a competition nearby?
  • There are some but not near.
  • And what other ideas would you have?
  • For the time being I don’t want to try a new business – I’d like to improve this and open some more shops. I think I have some experiences in opening shops.
  • What kinds of shops wouldn’t you open?
  • I don’t think I would open a shop selling electrical goods.
  • What do you think a good enterprise needs?
  • It needs somebody who knows a lot about goods and selling and somebody who can produce the background for this. When would you be satisfied with this bag-business?
  • I would like it to be self-financialized.

venture-capital-money.jpgLesson FOUR - What if I offer you some money for the company?

- Let’s say I am a milionaire, and I’d like to help you somehow. How can I help you with money?

- You can give us a cheaper credit.

- And how would you use it? Will you improve your office or your service?

- With a part of the sum we would improve our office…

- For example?

- At first we would change copy-machines.

- How many do you have?

- About fifty.

- OK. Go on.

- We would buy new lap-tops.

- Does everybody work on lap-tops at your office?

- Almost everybody. Mobilitiy is a basic factor of our work. In this way everybody can work almost anywhere.

- Yes, we do.

- How many?

- About twenty.

- How old are they in average?

- They are about 4 years old.

- And the building itself? The rooms and the furniture?

- The north-wing is very old – our accountants work there and our transportation administratioors, too. The east-wing of the building is newer. The headquarter is OK, but our shops or sale-points needs improving.

- In what point of view?

- There are a lot of new technologies that we have started to sell, and we need room for them. Our customers should see them.

- And how can it be solved?

- With larger room at the shops.

- Are you sure it would increase trading / sales volume?

- It usually does.
